Required- Currently based in Abuja, FCT.
- At least 18 years old.
- WAEC, SSCE, or equivalent qualification.
- Genuine interest in electrical work.
- Willingness to commit to the selected apprenticeship track.

- Ability to meet approved programme fee requirements for the selected track.
- Prior electrical installation or maintenance exposure.

A Structured Path From Fundamentals to Practical Competence
Foundation
Apprentices are introduced to electrical fundamentals, tool identification, personal protective equipment, and basic safety procedures. Work at this stage is closely supervised and focused on building correct habits before independent tasks are assigned.
Practical Development
Apprentices begin assisting with routine installation and maintenance tasks (cable routing, accessory fitting and basic wiring) under direct supervision, while continuing to build understanding of safe working practices and site procedures.
Intermediate Technical Exposure
As competence is demonstrated, apprentices take on more involved tasks, including supporting distribution board work, assisting with fault-finding, and being introduced to solar and backup-power installation work where projects allow.
Advanced Practical Development
Apprentices who have shown consistent competence, safety awareness, and reliability are given greater responsibility on assigned tasks, working more independently under the continued oversight of experienced technicians and engineers.
Progression is based on demonstrated competence, conduct, attendance, safety awareness, programme requirements, and available training opportunities. Progression does not automatically guarantee employment or independent authorization to perform regulated electrical work.

What is the Kell Electricals Apprenticeship Programme?

Is this the same as Industrial Training?
No. Industrial Training (IT/SIWES) is a short academic placement for currently enrolled engineering students to fulfil a school requirement. Apprenticeship is a longer-term, paid-tuition trade-development programme aimed at building a career in electrical work, and is not tied to an academic institution or IT/SIWES requirement.
How long is the apprenticeship?
Apprentices choose between a 2-year track or a 4-year track when applying.
How much does the programme cost?
The programme fee is ₦500,000 for the 2-year track or ₦850,000 for the 4-year track.
Is there a stipend?
Yes. A stipend of ₦25,000 per month is provided, subject to applicable programme terms. The apprenticeship programme is a paid-tuition training programme. The programme fee and stipend are separate concepts.
Can I get a refund if I withdraw from the programme?
Programme fees are non-refundable once training has commenced.
What are the working hours?

Currently, applicants must be based in Abuja, FCT. We're unable to accept apprenticeship applicants based outside Abuja.
Will I become a certified electrician after completing the programme?
The programme is designed to build practical trade skills and experience. It does not itself confer a professional certification or license. Certification and licensing (where applicable) are separate processes outside the scope of this programme.
Does completing the programme guarantee a job?
No. Completing the apprenticeship does not guarantee employment, permanent placement, or a job offer with Kell Electricals Ltd or any other employer.
Will I receive a certificate?
Programme completion documentation, where applicable, is confirmed directly with accepted apprentices as part of the programme terms. This is not something we state in advance on this page.
Is the programme classroom-based?
No. The apprenticeship is a practical, hands-on programme built around supervised exposure to real installation, maintenance, and technical work, not classroom instruction.
